Presented by The Resource Center of the Americas with Saint Francis Cabrini Church, Church of Saint Cecilia and Prospect Park United Methodist Church

How well do you know your neighbors? St. Francis Cabrini, Prospect Park UMC, and St. Cecilia’s are hosting a presentation including a short video from the “Who is my neighbor?” project, a panel of Latino speakers, and a discussion. Together we will explore reasons for immigration to the U.S., along with the challenges and successes of immigrants.

The LATINO VOICES Project aims to create a better understanding of who the Latino immigrants are in our community—-what brought them here, the “push” factors and how they have been able to make a life for themselves. Some of the presentations focus on a particular immigration issue such as youth and immigration while other look at issues related to enforcement issues or immigration reform. As part of each presentation, members of the faith community are encouraged to take action. A list of actions steps, video/film resources and an information booklet for follow up discussion will be provided.

Facilitator: Rev. Loren McGrail, Chair of the MN United Church of Christ Immigration Task Force and lead organizer of the Interfaith Coalition on Immigration.
